2022 Mercedes-AMG C43 – It is available as a coupe as well as convertible The 2022 Mercedes-AMG C43 has the look of a luxury car with a sports-car appearance. The two-door C43 models come with a twin-turbo V-6 engine that produces 385 powerful horsepower and a great sound. The C43 comes with an all-wheel drive and the handling of the C43 is razor-sharp. The current crop of C43s will probably be the last generation because the C-class was modified to be ready for 2022 and an AMG tuned version is on the path to replace C43 with something more contemporary and hopefully equally enjoyable to drive.

The C43 is available only in convertible and coupe forms because the C-class sedan has been revamped to be available in 2022 as well as the tuned AMG model is not yet available. The engine was inherited from the 2016 C450, C43’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 is an absolute gem. It is powerful and powerfully torque-rich the 385-hp engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission that switches cogs in a speedy and precise manner. The upgraded six is awash with powerful wells and does not feel stressed or overwhelmed when you use it. Despite the power increase from 362 horses to 385 and 385 horses, the C43 of 2019 C43 has the identical 4.1-second to 60-mph at our test track similar to the 2017 model that we tried. While Mercedes-AMG equips the C43 with a pair of steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, we found the nine-speed gearbox a competent enough companion when left to its own devices. In keeping with its AMG branding, the agile and capable C43 is a pleasure to navigate through narrow two-lane roads. The C43’s steering is extremely precise and clear and also its rear-biased, all-wheel-drive system permits a bit of the chassis to rotate before asking for more assistance to the wheels in front. Its suspension is adjustable to Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ settings. The three modes are all rigid and can cause a rough ride on roads a painful experience.
The C43’s efficiency in fuel isn’t going to get you into the high regard of the neighborhood Sierra Club. The interior of the C43 is finished and made of premium materials that exceed the high expectations set by the car’s pricey value. Although it’s not as stylish as the C-class’s new design interior, the C43’s cabin has modern dashboard designs with an elegant center stack, which conceals an extensive storage space that is complemented by cups in the cup holders. It is mostly devoid of buttons. the center stack of the C43 is supported with a row of high-end knobs for rocker switches that control the standard dual-zone climate control. Although it is ergonomically designed the control panel for the climate is adorned with tiny graphics that are difficult to read at the moment. It’s the C43 Coupe’s interior space for the trunk is standard. Three carry-on luggage can fit inside the trunk with seats at the rear in use, and 11 when the rear seats are lowered. The large door pockets and an ample set of console bins supply the C43 with plenty of storage space inside. However, the C-class isn’t as generous in its storage space inside, compared to more mainstream cars like that of Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry.
Infotainment and Connectivity
All C43 models have the 10.5-inch information display that runs the most recent version of Mercedes-Benz’s COMAND infotainment system; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are also available as standard. Commands are executed by using a rotary control or a touchpad mounted on top of the controller. The response times were not any better or worse than the average smartphone.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Every C43 is equipped with safety features that are standard, such as forward-collision warnings and emergency brakes. Additional driver assistance features are also available. But, adding these features is costly and requires expensive packages.
