2022 Kia Forte – In the wake of the latest facelift for K3, the Korean version of K3, Kia has introduced the 2022 Forte for North America with several changes.
Models
Its 2022 Kia Forte is available in four trim levels: LXS, FE GT-Line, and GT with the available Technology (LXS, GT-Line, GT) and Sport Premium (GT-Line) packages. The compact car also is referred to as Forte, Cerato, or K3 in various markets across the world has entered its third generation as of 2018. This is an update for mid-life.
2022 Kia Forte New Design
Regarding the exterior design, The press release was preceded by only one photo of the front of the 2022 Kia Forte GT. The new face features extended LED headlights that have now joined with the sleeker grille with a tiger-nose and an improved bumper that has elegant intakes, and additional LEDs. The design is identical to the previous model, however, the rear is likely to have the same bumper but with a slight change as well as new taillights on GT and GT-Line, new LED taillight graphics for GT and GT-Line, and a new KIA emblem, as well as the trunk lid spoiler similar to those on the Korea-spec K3. Kia also unveiled the new 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheel styles for LX as well as the GT-Line trims.
The 2022 Forte also gets a brand new 10.25-inch center touchscreen (GT and GT-Line) with navigation and an 8-inch touchscreen (FE LXS, FE) that supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The standard 4.2-inch screen inside the instrument cluster signifies North America doesn’t get the luxurious 10.25-inch digital instrument clusters of the Korean-spec top trims. Other improvements are the electric parking brake that comes with auto hold, the option of a back USB charger, the possibility of Syntex faux leather seats, and The Smart Key offering remote start. Safety equipment now comes with six standard ADAS and the possibility of 15 different systems which include the Highway Driving Assist, the navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, and the safe Exit Warning.
Engine Specs
Similar to its predecessor model, its predecessor, the 2022 Kia Forte is available with two engines. There are three engines available: FE, LXS, and GT-Line come with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter MPI four-cylinder producing 147 horsepower (109 kW/149 PS) and the equivalent of 132 pounds (178 Nm) of torque. The power is transferred via the front wheel by the Intelligent Continuously variable transmission (IVT) which can achieve the FE trim earning 41 MPG on the highway.
Performance
The more robust GT version has a turbocharged 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder producing 201 horsepower (150 kW/203 PS) and an impressive 195 pounds (264 Nm) of torque. The GT buyers have the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch or 6-speed manual. The GT is also equipped with a sporty suspension design with an all-link rear axle with dual exhaust pipes and more powerful brakes.
2022 Kia Forte Released
2022 Kia Forte is expected to be built in Monterrey, Mexico. Kia hasn’t announced pricing but it could be comparable to the model that was released earlier. We don’t know anything about the future of the Forte 5 hatchback. Forte 5 hatchback since Kia has only revealed that it will be a Forte sedan for the model year 2022.
